After a move to Tanjong Pangar Road, the Tippling Club came to the world’s attention after being placed in the top 25 restaurants in Asia by San Pellegrino. As well as serving up some of the most inventive food led by British bar manager Joe Schofield’s high-concept drinks keep up with chef/owner Ryan Clift’s avant-garde, molecular menu. Operation Dagger

The Operations Dagger is one of those basement bar hidden along a back alley. Localized at the junction of Club Street and Ann Siang Hill is terribly hard to find this Singapore best bars but the effort is well worth it. The simplicity of this modern interior design room finished in grey polished concrete with rounded edges, belies the complexity of what’s in each glass lookout for the illegible scrawlings above the door and descend into the lair lit by a cloud of bulbs above the bar.

Native

 

Native, a jewel box of a bar just up the street from Employees Only, its a hidden second-floor sanctum on bustling Amoy Street that’s dedicated to all things regional. Vijay Mudaliar led an expert bar team that will educate you on spirits from Thailand, the Phillippines, India and beyond, paired with foraged ingredients to give you a taste of Southeast Asia in a cocktail.

Employees Only

This alluring cocktail bar conceived in downtown New York boasts an old-world charm in both it’s Singapore best bars interior and ambience. Beyond a pink neon sign that flickers ‘Psychic’, you’ll find a bar that will take you back to the Prohibition days of the US.

Employees Only flaunt art Deco accents and glamorous design with its curved modern interior design bar and elevated back dining room. Steve Schneider, a veteran with 13 years of experience and multiple accolades under his belt, is tasked with educating the bar team on the techniques Employees Only is famed for.

 

D. Bespoke

Led by bartender Daiki Kanetaka this handsome new Ginza-style bar delivers a rarified cocktail experience to swoon over. D. Bespoke – the ‘D’ is a reference to Kanetaka’s first name, but it comes across as pseudo-French – is almost like a reprise of the exclusive Glen and Glen Classic bars in Beijing for which Karnataka’s exalted.

Watching him prepare each drink is a mesmerizing study in poise and dexterity; graceful and exacting, as Japanese bartenders are revered for in the West. This is by no means an everyday bar. With 16 years’ experience in the strict Japanese bar system, Kanetaka counts Japanese legend Hidetsugu Ueno a mentor.
