Dog & Duck
Originally built in 1734, many famous historical figures have enjoyed the hospitality of The Dog and Duck, including John Constable, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and George Orwell. The present building was built in 1897, and is considered to have one of London’s most exquisite interiors of the period, characterised by thousands of highly glazed tiles, having an incredible bar area design. The Dog & Duck is known chiefly for its literary heritage and for its ever-changing ale selection.
Harp
Considered one of the best pubs in London and one of the best for pub design ideas, the pub’s flower-adorned exterior immediately identifies this place as rather cosy and old-fashioned. While the frugal or impoverished may prefer the cheaper beer on offer in the nearby Chandos. The atmosphere is unpretentious, in keeping with the traditional décor – wooden fittings, old portraits on the walls, stained glass windows that can open fully when the weather permits and a sign declaring ‘football-free zone’ on the back door.
Jamaica Wine House

From the outside The Jugged Hare looks like the imposing City boozer it must once have been. This pub ticks so many boxes of modern, no-nonsense British cookery that it almost qualifies as a theme pub.
