The Golden Key shortlist for International Bar Design Award have been announced by the Hospitality Media Group’s 38th annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design. The Gold Key Awards is the industry´s oldest and most prestigious awards program and recognizes the most influential and innovative design work in the hospitality interior design industry.
The group announced the finalist in 21 categories and for the design of the year. The winners will be unveiled at the Gold Key Award Gala, to be held Nov. 12 at Gotham Hall in Midtown Manhattan.
Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur has opened its doors in the city’s Golden Triangle district, unveiling three unique spaces by Hong Kong-based interior design studio AB Concept. Curated by co-founders Ed Ng and Terence Ngan – Yun House, The Lounge at Four Seasons and Bar Trigona merge colonial and Asian influences, paying homage to Chinese and Malaysian heritage.
This finalist of International Bar Design Award incorporating leather, glass, and bronze, materials traditionally used in Malaysian crafts, the bar decor ideas embrace the connection to the cityscape backdrop, whilst the use of shutters on surrounding columns draw on the connection between Eastern culture and Western colonial influence.

Designed by Jonh Sofio of Built, Inc. This nominated for Golden Key Shortlist is a whimsical concept bar that portraying a fantasy world. The bar decor was inspired by fairytales classic storybooks and was filled with an extensive menagerie of characters references such as mermaids, peacock poppies, garden gypsies, and human animals.
The modern interior design features an exclusive bar under a curved upholstered silk fabric ceiling; an indoor/outdoor patio area with a nature_inspired decor that offers an atrium-inspired hangout with faux poppies acting as 3D floral wallpaper, cozy seating, and pink-and-white checkerboard flooring.
This other finalist to this year International Bar Design Award was designed by Simeone Deary Design Group, under a consulting agreement with Gensler. The Rosita Cocktail Bar and Lounge at the Palazzo Las Vegas is an elegant and luxurious cocktail retreat that embodies old-school allure with its Art Deco flair, and shimmering shades of black, pearl, gold, and rich burgundy.
Warm and opulent crystal chandeliers hang above maroon u-shaped banquettes on each side of the bar. High-top tables accented by burgundy velvet chairs placed in front of the bar and small cocktail tables paired with pearl colored leather chairs spread throughout the lounge area provide lavish yet, varied seating options for guests.

Are part social club, part live music, and entertainment venue, Analog at Hutton Hotel straddling the line between high-end cocktail den and insider live music venue and invites guests for a uniquely intimate experience. The next indicated for Golden Key Shortlist is located above the restaurant and main lobby, the 5,000 – square-foot space offers high-design interiors developed by Studio 11 Design.
The bar interior design is a stunner, with double-height ceilings, a dramatic color palette, and the main bar with an incredible wall of analog electronics. Seating on the main floor and both balcony levels range from a variety of couches and lounge chairs to high-top tables and traditional bar seating.
