The fusion of Dutch Cape heritage and contemporary design in a family environment.
This is what architect Rick Stander wanted to implement, the reinvention of Krone and his farm Twee Jonge Gezellen was a two year project. With the help of Tracy Lynch, the interior designer who refreshed the space without losing the history of this estate dating back three centuries
What gives – a newly renovated tasting room – accessed through the farm entrance, before guiding visitors through glass doors, and overhung by a woven metallic light beam. Recognizing the architecture of the National Monument, the whitewashed walls and sleek design leave no room for the Dutch Cape heritage, welcoming a gallery-like space in which nothing is permanently fixed. A revolving collection of modern works of art revolves around freestanding industrial design pieces and metal sculptures in rooms, minimalist decorations, elements of a theme that is evident throughout the decor.
